"A seriously great time!"
"Our daughter absolutely loved this science club and had only positive comments about it. She told us that she felt that the explanations were very clear, the hands-on activities fun, and she loved the teacher’s enthusiasm for what she was teaching. We would definitely sign up again in the future. Thank you!"
Science Camp Description
SUMMER PROGRAM 2009
The Case of the Missing Ted Williams Photo
Week 1 (July 6th-10th)
The first week of the science program, our detectives will be helping to solve the mystery of a robbery.
CSC is hot on the trail of a new case.
The Arthur Griffin Museum is looking for detectives to help them solve the Mystery of the Missing Ted Williams photo.
The museum curator, Paula Tognerelli, was shocked to find this famous photo was missing on the same day that the astronomer, Haley S. Comet, was dismantling the Starry Sky exhibit.
Paula is also wondering about the plumber, Rusty Pipes, who was working on the water wheel earlier in the day. The Winchester police once again have asked CSC detectives to solve this mystery. Don't miss this exciting, science experience, as we visit the Griffin museum on July 6th to gather evidence with Detective Pierce.
Science Mystery Week
Week 2 (July 13th-17th)
The second week of the program will be all about the mysteries of science. Each day will focus on a different mystery, and five different activities based on the topic. The detectives will be engaged in these activities to help build an understanding about the scientific concepts.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM 2009
This Club is a partnership of the schools, parents and community to provide fun, hands-on, experiment-driven projects in science, technology, engineering and mathematics that offer kids an opportunity to dig deeper into their world and enrich the way they look at it.
A Club Scientist will lead the six-session exploration of a single topic for 13-15 students in a grade-grouping and will be assisted by a Young Scientist (from grades 8-12) and a Club Manager (parent volunteer). The Club is made possible by a generous donation by Lee Kimball •Design •Build •Celebrate and Dorothea Feffer from Coldwell Banker. Please sign up today for a wonderful science experience. It will be first come, first serve, however, those on the waiting list from the first session will have priority.
Fall 2009 promises an exciting program starting Monday, October 19th for 4 weeks. Information about the program will be in the newspaper, school news and on our updated web site.
Grades 1+2 Water, Water Everywhere. Learn about what objects float or sink and why; the pH of water; the states of matter of water; create oobleck and much more.
Grades 3+4+5 Meteorology. Get the low-down on precipitation, clouds, thunderstorms, wind, hurricanes, and more; build your own rain gauge; see how clouds are formed; maybe even make your own fog.
Grades 3+4+5 Physics is Fun. Our own "Mr. Wizard" will share interactive demonstrations about the forces of motion, electromagnetics, astronomy, science of bubbles and much more.
Grades 4+5+6 Blood and Guts. Learn about how your body works through fun and exciting hands-on activities. Experiments may include teeth casting, skin prints, chemical reactions of the liver and a stress test.
Grades 4+5+6 How to Build a Better Mousetrap Students will be creating a better mousetrap using as many simple machines as possible. They will be problem- solving independently and sharing with a group to understand the technology designing process. The final product - a better mousetrap will be built!
Grades 4+5+6 LEGOROBOTICS. Enjoy the science and technology of Mindstorms.
Grades 6+7+8 Inventions of the Future. You name it, we’re building it – or at least models of it. Space elevator, hover craft, flying cars and more. If you have an invention to share, here’s the place!
- Five week-long session held on Wednesday beginning on October 14th, 2009: 10/21, 10/28, 11/4, 11/18
